In order for the wireless speaker system to operate it will require a transmitter which works on broadcast frequencies similar to your radio. Some wireless speakers have the receiver end built into the speaker encloser itself, very convenient with less hookup involved.  Others offer a separate receiver along with transmitter. Some home theater systems offer rear wireless speaker reception where the transmitter is built in to the amplifier or tuner.

Some interference with the broadcast frequencies may occur until slight adjustment in the position of the unit and it will be ok. Once you know a good spot, leave it there or return it there for the next time you use it. If using in serveral different locations, installing a shelf or hanging bracket will help to assure decent reception for next time use.

There are some key factors to look for when choosing a system that’s right for you. How much quality you are wanting out of a wireless system, how much you’d be willing to spend, Size and more. There are some limitations on how well the wireless speaker systems operate in the area you want to use it in. Do you want the new digital wireless speakers or will the original analog work for you?There are newer broadcast frequencies which are similar to cordless phones which can be a problem. If you have 2.1 mhz for cordless phone you may want to purchase a different frequency for your wireless speaker system. Maybe an older analog signal will do.  Do you have other wireless technology in your home that may interfere with the transmission of these speakers?  Decisions, decisions…yuck!

Some common uses for wireless speakers are for listening to music in a room of the house that has no speakers, or a garage or workshop too as well as the deck or patio in the back yard of the house.
